Difference Between ChatGPT and GPT-4
GPT-4 AKA Generative Pre-Trained Transformer will be the successor of the current ChatGPT which uses GPT version 3. ChatGPT was developed by Open AI and released to the public in November 2022. It was built using a large language model and fine-tuned by using supervised and reinforcement learning techniques.
GPT-3 Vs GPT-4
GPT-3 (ChatGPT) was trained on 175 billion parameters and there were rumors that GPT-4 will be trained on 100 trillion parameters but OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said all these claims are false. GPT-4 will be more focused on improving security controls and it will have multiple models and different capabilities according to Andreas Braun, CTO of Microsoft Germany, and Lead Data & AI STU.
GPT-4 Releasing Next Week according to Microsoft
According to the “AI in Focus – Digital Kickoff” event on 9 March 2023, Microsoft employees mentioned that they are working with OpenAI to work on multimodality and they are releasing GPT-4 next week.
They also mentioned that the Large Language Model will be a game changer as it can teach machines to understand natural language. Earlier it was done in a statistical way which was only understandable by humans. Now you can ask GPT-4 any question in any language and it can give answers in other languages. The multi-model concept of Microsoft-OpenAI will make the GPT-4 models comprehensive.
Use cases
There are multiple use cases that the Microsoft teams are currently working on such as translating text not only into images but into video and music. It can also be used in programs such as Copilot and Codex which will make development easy. GPT-4 can also be used to do speech-to-text or phone call so that the call center team don’t have summary the call conversation
